Reservoir Engineer II

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position will be based out of the company’s office in Midland, Texas. Candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of engineers, geoscientists and land professionals and will provide support through his/her knowledge of reservoir characterization, reservoir management, performance analysis and surveillance. Must be able to handle multiple projects while meeting the established deadlines. Must have Aries experience and a good understanding of oil & gas operations. Must work well in a team setting and communicate effectively.
Description of Tasks:
- Ability to run economic scenarios and have strong understanding of Aries
- Assist in the evaluating of exploitation opportunities, including new drill wells, recompletions and workover projects
- Ability to perform evaluation on Non-Op opportunities
- Ability to create and utilize technical workflows in Spotfire
- Seek to improve and increase efficiency of routine analysis
- Proficient and strong understanding of probabilistic and deterministic methods
- Support documentation process to justify investment opportunities to management
- Conduct technical reviews and asset valuations for both operated and Non-Op to maximize asset value
- Decline curve analysis for reserves estimation and reporting
- Provide look back analysis of recently drilled development programs and incorporate findings into future development plans
- Work with production engineers to perform well investigation to identify needed maintenance and workovers
- Support Corporate reserves team with building LOE, Differentials and CAPEX models using connected Sql databases and Spotfire.
- Understand and follow all safety policies & procedures based on company HSE program
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. in Engineering required; B.S. in Petroleum Engineering preferred
- 2 – 4 years of industry related experience preferably with a concentration in reservoir engineering
- Must have Aries experience
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office.
- Working knowledge of Spotfire & other reservoir software
- Ability to work flexible hours, as needed
- Exceptional work ethic with a high degree of integrity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated individual who works well in a fast-paced environment
