Job Summary:

The Lease Operator position, located in Northwest Shelf area (near Plains, TX and Denver City, TX) will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on production and other pertinent well information and provides maintenance on production equipment. The position applies basic and some advanced skills to perform routine and complex operations using tools and equipment appropriate for the energy industry. Applies a general understanding of the technical concepts, practices, and procedures, and has a general knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to the oil and gas industry.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gauge production on assigned wells and record gauge readings, downtime and other pertinent well information into the production system.
  • Note problems and/or recommend course of actions to supervisor to minimize costs and maximize production.
  • Attend and participate in daily production meetings, monthly safety meetings, and quarterly well reviews.
  • Utilize SCADA to monitor and evaluate well performance and facility status, respond to SCADA alarms if required.
  • Perform work in a manner that ensures the secure and environmentally safe operation of all wells, equipment, and leases for which pumper is responsible.
  • Conduct other tasks as required by supervisor which are unique to the assigned geographic area.
  • Must understand and perform all duties according to Company standard operating procedures and in compliance within all regulatory and EH&S guidelines.
  • Must be self-motivated, have strong ethics, have the ability to work with minimum supervision, have reliable attendance and demonstrate flexible cooperative behavior in the workplace.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of lease operator experience or related experience preferred.
  • Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle.
  • Must have a general knowledge of safe oil and gas production operations.
  • Must have experience using computers and inputting data, use of MS Word and MS Excel is a plus.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematic calculations, have a good mechanical aptitude, good writing skills and a good safety and driving record.
  • Must be dependable and have ability to work overtime, if necessary.

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The position will be based out of the company’s office in The Woodlands, Texas. The candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of engineers, geoscientists and land professionals. The position’s main focus will be performing economic valuations of potential acquisitions and divestitures. This is a dynamic role that requires the candidate to have entrepreneurial skills with a high-level understanding of engineering, operations, and financial disciplines. Must work well in a team setting and communicate efficiently with a strong emphasis on prioritization, accuracy, and presentation skills.

Description of Tasks:

  • Primary focus on evaluation of acquisition & divestiture opportunities
  • Quickly scope and accurately screen potential acquisition opportunities
  • Conduct technical reviews and asset valuations for both business development opportunities and operated positions to maximize company portfolio value
  • Assist in technical evaluations and presentations of materials for the executive management team and investor relations departments
  • Ability to perform complex valuations incorporating financial statements, commercials, engineering and build financial models
  • Participate in data room management presentations and provide executive summaries to management team
  • Ability to research and provide market movements, benchmarking, and identify key value metrics
  • Position will also provide support to Subsurface Development group as needed
  • Proficient and strong understanding of probabilistic and deterministic methods
  • Expected to participate in business development conferences, networking, and associations
  • Can easily identify limitations in data set and range in certainty of results calculations
  • Evaluate and report competitor results and conduct basin studies for benchmarking and acquisition opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7 – 13 years of oil & gas industry related experience
    • Preferably with an operator and/or investment bank – concentration in reservoir engineering with experience in operations preferred
  • B.S. in Engineering required; B.S. in Petroleum Engineering preferred
  • MBA not required but preferred
  • Proficient computer skills with MS Office.
  • Proficient with Aries, FactSet, and Spotfire
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as needed
  • Exceptional work ethic with a high degree of integrity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated individual who works well in a fast-paced environment

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position will be based out of the company’s office in The Woodlands, Texas. This role will be primarily involved with corporate reserves, corporate planning and reservoir studies and will include a lead role in the preparation and accuracy testing associated with the SEC reserves process.  Candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of engineers, geoscientist and land professionals and will provide support through his/her knowledge of reservoir characterization, reservoir management, performance analysis and surveillance.  Must be able to handle multiple projects with minimal supervision, while meeting the established deadlines.  Must work well in a team setting and communicate efficiently with a strong emphasis on prioritization, accuracy, and presentation skills. Must have extensive ARIES experience.

Description of Tasks:

  • Primary role will be in corporate reserves and corporate planning
  • Responsible for the quarterly reserve process including compliance with internal / external reserve auditors, optimizing reserve additions through upside support, and any related reserve reporting requirements
  • Maintain Corporate Reserves DB and provide recommendations on continual improvement
  • Participate in long range business planning by preparing quarterly production volume forecasts and projection outputs
  • Assist in preparation of materials for RBL redeterminations
  • Developing LOE and CAPEX models for corporate modeling
  • Prepare comprehensive cash flow analysis and modeling for capital and expense projects
  • Prepare presentations based on analysis and provide recommendations to team and management
  • Prepare cost comparisons on budgeted versus actual expenditures
  • Develop production and reserve reports for regulatory and company reporting requirements
  • Work with development team and attend key asset development and planning meetings to stay current with development plan and challenges that impact reserves
  • Assume additional responsibilities and assist in special projects as needed or directed
  • Work with Planning and Performance Management team to ensure robust commercial analysis of drilling inventory, capital program and ongoing operations
  • Work with Management to ensure compliance with corporate processes 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. in Engineering required; B.S. in Petroleum Engineering preferred.
  • 7-15 years of industry related experience preferably with a concentration in reservoir engineering, but experience in operations is required.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of Corporate Reserves experience with an operator
  • Public Company experience is a plus
  • Proficient computer skills with MS Office
  • Extensive knowledge of ARIES and working knowledge of Spotfire
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as needed
