POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position will be based out of the company’s office in Midland, Texas. Candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of engineers, geoscientist and land professionals and will provide support through his/her knowledge of regulatory rules. Must be able to handle multiple projects with minimal supervision, while meeting the established deadlines. This is a supervisory role and the successful candidate is expected to interpret oil and gas regulation and foster growth in their team.

Description of Tasks:

  • Supervise and guide the Regulatory and Production Reporting staff in their day- to-day activities and tasks.
  • Responsible for interpreting regulations, accurately reporting to federal and state agencies, and working with company personnel at all levels of management
  • Manage filings to state organizations (Railroad Commission, NMOCD & BLM)
  • Organize and maintain technical files related to the permitting functions of the regulatory group
  • Develop business relationships with professionals at regulatory agencies to ensure knowledge of the rules and compliance
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, influence other departments, and discuss issues that may potentially arise
  • Review documentation submitted by third parties and be able to correct and review information independently
  • Review as drilled plats provided by survey companies
  • Review drilling permits
  • Work with multiple disciplines to ensure accuracy before permitting
  • Ability to comprehend complex permitting issues
  • P-16s, P-12s, P-17s, SWR 10s, 37s, 38s, and 40s
  • Responsible for filing UIC permits – collecting and reviewing all data before the application is submitted
  • Responsible for ensuring all facilities and gathering pipelines are compliant with regulatory requirements (TCEQ, TRRC, EPA)
  • Overall comprehension of all aspects of oil & gas operations
  • Prepare reports for the Mandatory Reporting Rule for Greenhouse Gases
  • Assist with the development of LDAR Monitoring Plans and schedules
  • Work with third party for items related to air permitting, SPCC, OOOOa, and GHG Emission Plans
  • TIER II reporting/oversight
  • Prepare and submit T4 permits and SWR106/SWR36 applications when applicable

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 – 20 years of oil and gas related experience or demonstrated knowledge of the industry
  • Minimum of 10 – 20 years regulatory and compliance experience

Must be able to handle multiple projects with minimal supervision, while meeting the established deadlines. Must have a thorough understanding of practical petroleum economic theory. Must work well in a team setting and communicate efficiently with a strong emphasis on prioritization, accuracy, and presentation skills.

Description of Tasks:

  • Assist in technical evaluations and presentations of materials for the executive management team and investor relations departments
  • Provide support to both corporate reserves and A&D departments
  • Ability to create and utilize technical workflows in Spotfire
  • Seeks to improve and increase efficiency of routine analysis
  • Responsible for aiding in evaluating and initiating exploitation opportunities, including new drill wells, and outside operated opportunities.
  • Proficient and strong understanding of probabilistic and deterministic methods.
  • Can easily identify limitations in data set and range in certainty of results.
  • Conduct technical reviews and asset valuations for both operated positions and business development opportunities to maximize economic value
  • Identify and implement business unit improvements to enhance organizational performance.
  • Duties involve identification, justification, and implementation of reserves-bearing opportunities.
  • Short and long-term production forecasting, reserves estimation and reporting, and support of annual budget and planning cycles.
  • Provide ongoing look back analysis regarding recently drilled wells and incorporate findings into future development plans.
  • Evaluate and report competitor results and conduct basin studies for benchmarking and acquisition opportunities
  • Support team with building LOE and CAPEX models using connected Sql databases and Spotfire. Ability to support analysis of the data
  • Understand and follow all safety policies & procedures based on company HSE program

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. in Engineering required; B.S. in Petroleum Engineering preferred.
  • 2 – 5 years of industry related experience preferably with a concentration in reservoir engineering
  • Proficient computer skills with MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of Aries and Spotfire
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as needed
  • Exceptional work ethic with a high degree of integrity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated individual who works well in a fast-paced environment.
