POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position will be based out of the company’s office in Midland, Texas. The candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of engineers, geoscientists and land professionals and should be self motivated and focused on providing support.  Must be able to handle multiple projects while meeting the established deadlines. Must have a good understanding of oil & gas operations and experience with spotfire, Aries experience is a plus. Must work well in a team setting and communicate effectively.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather well information and production data from public and internal databases
  • Independently create and maintain engineering databases and ensure data quality of all data imports
  • Work closely with the Subsurface team, D&C team, and Technology team as well as the Data Management team daily to ensure databases remain organized and updated
  • Utilize reservoir engineering software to prepare production forecasts for internal analysis
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of data visualization and analysis tools using Spotfire
  • Assist in team communication efforts in areas such as reporting, power point slide creation and formatting
  • Own and automate processes to extract data from static reports into other databases
  • Ability to run economic scenarios and have a strong understanding of Aries
  • Coordinate with other departments to acquire information or report data and activities
  • Assist in the evaluating of exploitation opportunities, including new drill wells, recompletions and workover projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 – 6 years of industry related experience preferably with a concentration in reservoir engineering
  • Bachelor's Degree in geology, engineering or computer science related
  • Experience with data manipulation, management, and QC
  • Must be detail oriented with an investigative mind and ability to troubleshoot
  • Proficient in MS Office, SQL, and Spotfire
  • Aries and ComboCurve experience is a plus

Description of Tasks:

  • Primary role will be in corporate reserves and corporate planning
  • Responsible for the annual reserve process including compliance with internal / external reserve auditors, optimizing reserve additions through upside support, and any related reserve reporting requirements
  • Analyze well reserve levels for economic value analysis and company reporting requirements according to established schedules
